This examination can be taken from any level. |

AEAJ admission
Anyone may apply for membership in the AEAJ (as an individual member) regardless of qualification. |

| Once certified, a member must continue to be an AEAJ member in good standing for his / her professional qualifications to remain valid. |

A person holding this qualification is certified to have the
skills needed to provide aromatherapy, including treatment and consultation,
to the general public. This qualification is suitable for those wishing to actually
provide aromatherapy to third parties as a professional aromatherapist or a volunteer.
Approximately 1,300 persons have been certified as Aromatherapists to date.

To be certified as an Aromatherapist, a person already certified as an Aromatherapy Advisor must take and pass the Aromatherapist Examination, a practical examination in body treatment, and a chart screening, and then complete the registration procedures. |

A person holding this qualification is certified to have the
skills needed to offer expert guidance on knowledge and methods required by members
of the general public to practice safe, correct and productive aromatherapy in
their families and local communities. This qualification is suitable for those
wishing to engage in educational activities as a volunteer or an instructor at
local cultural classes and specialist schools. Nearly 6,000 persons have received
certification as Aromatherapy Instructors thus far.

To be certified as an Aromatherapy Instructor, a person already certified as an Aromatherapy Advisor must take and pass the Aromatherapy Instructor Examination and complete the registration procedures. |

A person holding this qualification is certified to be knowledgeable
in the means of using essential oils and other materials and the effectiveness
of aromatherapy for relaxation and refreshment, and to have the skills needed
to convey this knowledge correctly to the public in line with safety and legal
requirements. This qualification is suitable for those wishing to engage in sales
or to provide advice on safe aromatherapy to the general public. About 36,500
persons have qualified as Aromatherapy Advisors.

To be certified as an Aromatherapy Advisor, a person must pass Level 1 of the Aromatherapy Proficiency Examination, join the AEAJ, attend an Aromatherapy Advisor Certification Workshop, and then complete the registration procedures. |

| The Aromatherapy Proficiency Examination is an examination open
to the general public and offered twice each year (in May and November). Anyone
may take the examination at either level; there are no age or experience restrictions.
Approximately 80,100 persons have passed this examination. |
